Soccer Saves Academy Partners
Soccer Saves recognizes that there are some extraordinary organizations that are already doing great work in Africa using the power of the world’s greatest game – soccer!! We don’t view them as competitive with our work. In fact we want to PROMOTE the work they do. That’s why we set up the Soccer Saves Academy.
A Soccer Saves Academy partner is an organization that meets all of the following criteria:
- They share our vision and have delivered programs in Africa that integrate healthy lifestyles education with the greatest game in the world – soccer!!
- They believe in working with the communities they are serving to help them help themselves. That means (1) hiring local staff (2) training local coaches and (3) requiring that the local communities have a vested interest in all of the programming.
- They are rigorous about measuring results. It’s not enough to simply measure what has been done (i.e. the inputs). Academy Partners must measure the outputs and the outcomes (e.g. are the youth in fact living happier, healthier lives).
- They recognize that the challenges of helping nearly a billion teenagers are far too big for any one organization to take on. Academy Partners openly share their resources with the broader Soccer for Social Change community.
